Gemma Caballer Albareda

PhD in History from the Universitat de Barcelona (UB), she holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Documentation from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) and a Diploma in Library and Information Science from the UB. She has worked since 1997 at the Centre de Recursos per a l’Aprenentatge i la Investigació (CRAI) of the Universitat de Barcelona (UB) and has been a collaborating lecturer in the Bachelor’s Degree in History, Geography and Art History at the UOC. As a member of the Grup de Recerca Consolidat GREC-CEHI (UB), her research has focused on humanitarian aid provided to Spanish Civil War refugees in the camps of southern France. In 2026, she defended her doctoral thesis entitled “Invisible Refugees? The Comité national catholique de secours aux réfugiés d’Espagne and the Management of Humanitarian Aid in France between 1939 and 1940.”
